Fortunately I am still a year away from that foreboding concept, that chapter in life that seems so, so, so.... hmmm - can't think of a good word yet.  So, so final - terminal, even antique.  50 isn't really that different than 49, or even 48 - but when you change the 4 to a 5 in the number 49 - the significance of 50 revolves around describing yourself as being half of one century old.  The significance events in your 40's are children graduating from high school, high blood pressure medication, mid-life crisis and.... forgetfulness - maybe.  I can't quite recall.  I have a daughter engaged to be married, a son who is graduating from college and another daughter who is going to finish beauty school.  Perhaps the most important benchmark is still being in passionate love with my wife.  50,  hmmm....
